MOUNTAIN WISDOM

The Alenquer Demarcated Region is centred on the Serra de Montejunto mountain range. The mountains shelter it from the Atlantic winds and provide a temperate climate, with sunny afternoons and cool nights. As a result, the grapes ripen more gradually, allowing the local varieties to develop more fully.

The red wines have structure and concentration, but also a freshness marked by their acidity. The whites, meanwhile, tend to be complex, aromatic and exuberant. Both benefit from ancestral wisdom, passed down from generation to generation on estates where the vines have been tended for centuries.

NATURAL PROTECTION

The imposing Serra de Montejunto acts as a natural barrier, protecting the vines planted on its slopes from the strong Atlantic winds. However, the sea breezes help to dry the moisture from the bunches of grapes.
