Quinta do Lagar Novo

This estate was purchased in 1930 by Maria Vitória and José Joaquim Carvalho. In the 21st century, Quinta do Lagar Novo became the cornerstone of a wine-making project launched by agricultural engineer Luís Elias Carvalho, the couple's son. In 2006, Quinta do Lagar Novo's first wines were released onto the market. The characteristics of the soil and the maritime influence have led to a focus on white grape varieties, which cover 4.5 hectares.

Luís Elias is now supported by his three children. João is trained in viticulture, Tiago is a winemaker and Helena, a designer, helps to create the labels. In 2019, the estate ventured into wine tourism with the opening of a shop and event rooms.
