This 50-hectare estate in Alenquer has long been associated with wine production, but the Sociedade Agrícola do Carneiro was only founded in 1984. The aim was to plant new vineyards and to produce and bottle its own wine. In 1991, further modernisation took place with the construction of the estate's own winery in the centre of the vineyard.
In 2015, Quinta do Carneiro was acquired by Yuying Zhou. The Chinese businessman invested in technological modernisation and hired the oenologists Ricardo Santos, as a consultant, and Miguel Nunes, as the resident oenologist. Together, they are dedicated to producing high-quality red and white wines.
