Amélia Zuzarte Reis is the heir to this 150-year-old estate. The original owner, Polydoro Dionísio dos Santos Reis, bequeathed it to his son and grandson – Amélia's grandfather and father, respectively. In 2003, she set to work, restoring the vineyard, first with red grapes and later with white ones.
In 2017, together with her husband and son, she launched the Quinta de Vale Mourisco brand. They acquired the knowledge they lacked through further study, with her son, Paulo Figueiredo, graduating in oenology and Amélia Zuzarte Reis herself completing a postgraduate degree in Wine Business. The brand currently has dozens of hectares of vineyards and its own winery.
