The couple Christopher Price and Helga Wagner were expecting nothing more than a lovely holiday when they headed to Foz do Arelho in 1993. However, the region captivated them, and they bought a ruined house in the village of Cortém. As they restored the building, they planted vines and, inspired by the quality of the grapes, dedicated themselves to organic winemaking.
The philosophy followed by the self-taught winemaker is one of minimal intervention, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, but maximum conviviality when it comes to inviting friends to help with the harvest—whom he thanks with a wonderful meal and, of course, a few glasses of house wine.
