Rodrigo Martins graduated in Agronomic Engineering and began his career at the Alcobaça Region Farmers Association, providing support to the fruit-growing sector. He then decided to create an equivalent department for viticulture, and the interest it sparked led him to deepen his studies in the field.
In 2014, he leased a 1.5-hectare vineyard of red grape varieties. The result of his efforts was Espera Wines, produced with the support of his wife, who handles the design and communications, and launched on the market in 2018. The project started small, but it has grown, along with the vineyard area he works with.
