Ramilo Wines
This is a story of a family's hard work. Manuel Francisco Ramilo bought some land and planted a vineyard in the 1930s. His son, Belmiro Ramilo, began production, but continued to work in the construction industry. However, it was Nuno Ramilo, Manuel Francisco's grandson, who studied Wine Business and devoted himself full-time to winemaking from 2013 onwards.
In 2018, production switched to organic methods, always prioritising indigenous grape varieties. The number of hectares has risen to 10, including two in Colares, following the local tradition of sandy soils. The wines are crafted by winemaker João Mata, with consultancy from Virgílio Loureiro.
