Quinta dos Capuchos

Quinta dos Capuchos owes its name to its proximity to an ancient Franciscan convent, and its vineyards are believed to have been planted by the original friars themselves. In 1925, the estate was bought by Matias Canha. Eighty years later, with his great-grandson, José António Gomes Pereira, at the helm of the business, a new winery was inaugurated. Today, the estate also features a wine shop and an event space.

Over the years, the vineyards have been carefully rehabilitated with deep respect for tradition. The local climate and soils favour wines with good acidity, freshness and with great ageing potential.
