Quinta do Montalto
Quinta do Montalto
Quinta do Montalto dates back to 1880, when it was still known as Casal do Montalto. For generations, the estate was used primarily for farming and livestock, though wine production – specifically Vinho Medieval de Ourém – was always present.
André Gomes Pereira represents the fifth generation of the family to cultivate these lands and is a fierce advocate of Vinho Medieval, a legacy of the Cistercian monks that can only be made using the Fernão Pires and Trincadeira grape varieties. The vineyard now spans 24 hectares and has been entirely organic since 1997.
