Quinta de Sant’Ana
Quinta de Sant’Ana
Quinta de Sant'Ana was founded in 1633, but it was in 1992 that it passed into the hands of James and Ann Frost. The couple – he is English and she is German – began producing wine in 1999, when they replanted the vineyard. The young António Maçanita oversees the expansion of the vineyard and the range of grape varieties, and in 2018 production became organic, with the family taking part in the manual grape harvest.
The estate also offers accommodation for visitors wishing to explore the property and observe the wine-making process. Guests can also visit the chapel, with its 17th-century tiles, and sample fresh produce from the vegetable garden and locally produced honey.
