Quinta de San Michel
Quinta de San Michel
In 2003, Joaquim Camilo visited Sintra. He fell in love with the place, and that passion culminated in the purchase of Quinta de San Michel, in Janas. He studied the land in depth and enlisted the help of his friend Jorge Böhm, an expert, to choose the right grape varieties: Arinto and Malvasia.
In 2017, this blend gave rise to Malvarinto, which was launched in 2019. Meanwhile, the number of hectares of vineyards has grown, with the purchase of further land and the planting of another grape variety, Galego Dourado. The winemaking process takes place at the Adega Regional de Colares, and ageing occurs in the estate's own cellar, built from scratch on the grounds of Quinta de San Michel.
