Quinta da Casaboa
Quinta da Casaboa
João Ferreira dos Santos' passion for wine led him to begin production at this estate, which originally belonged to the Marquis of Pombal. The businessman bought the property in 1958, and in 2005, management was passed to his daughter and son-in-law, Maria de Fátima Ferreira dos Santos Paes and José Cansado Paes.
The couple's daughter, Joana Paes, later also entered the business, giving the family company a distinctly female character, with Vera Moreira and Patrícia Ferreira sharing the winemaking duties. Today, Quinta da Casaboa focuses primarily on native grape varieties and export, all underpinned by a modernised brand image.
