The history of Garrocha Wines begins with the vision of Mário Arrenegado, who devoted himself to wine production and, thanks to his success, was able to purchase several estates, including Quinta do Garrido. Two generations later, this estate is the centre of operations for the company led by his grandson, Francisco Macieira.
With a degree in agronomy, a master's degree in oenology and experience in Australia, Francisco Macieira has restructured the 47 hectares of vineyards, selecting grape varieties best suited to the estates' soils. The aim is to establish his wines on the domestic and international markets and thereby raise the profile of the Lisbon region.
