Pedro Porém's passion for wine is nothing new; it is a legacy passed down from his great-grandparents. It was they who purchased Quinta do Rendeiro in 1823. Over the following generations, the size of the estate and the vineyard grew. In the 21st century, Pedro Porém undertook a restructuring of the vineyard, opting for grape varieties better suited to the terroir. This led to the founding of Caves Rendeiro, headed by Pedro and his brother-in-law José Martins.
Caves Rendeiro currently cultivates around 40 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Alenquer. The main focus is on red grapes, but there are also white grapes, which are mainly used to produce Vinho Leve Lisboa.
