Bonifácio Wines
AdegaMãe
Francisco Bonifácio started out selling bulk wine to Lisbon's traditional taverns in the 1930s. In 1963, he founded António Francisco Bonifácio & Filhos, which over the years focused on improving wine quality and producing brandy, with the support of winemaker Adelino de Almeida Gomes.
In 1997, Jorge Bonifácio bought out his brothers and invited his son-in-law, António Pereira, to manage the business. In 2005, António Pereira took full control of the company, which later passed to his daughter and son-in-law, Rita Pereira and Manuel Isaías. This family connection explains the name "Património" (Heritage) given to their finest wines.
