Adega Arruda dos Vinhos
In 1954, a group of 25 local farmers founded the Arruda dos Vinhos Cooperative Winery. Its growth was remarkable, and four decades later it had over 1,500 members producing a vast quantity of wine per year.
The winery currently manages around 100 hectares of vineyards. The aim now is to focus more on quality than quantity. This work is led by the resident winemaker João Alexandre and consultant António Ventura. It is also well worth visiting the winery, which has a tasting room and a museum area of great interest.
