Adega da Azueira
Adega da Azueira
The 1950s were a period of abundant grape harvests. The surpluses recorded in the Carrascal area led to the formation of the Azueira Cooperative Winery in 1959. Thirty-eight members were involved in its founding, but the main driving force was Artur Patrocínio, who took on the role of chairman.
The building was not completed until a decade later, but it has continued to be modernised ever since and now features a wine shop and a tasting room. The winery's members currently represent 1,200 hectares of vineyards in Torres Vedras, Mafra and Sobral de Monte Agraço. The winemaking team consists of José Neiva Correia and Lisete Lucas.
