Adega Cooperativa do Cadaval
Adega Cooperativa do Cadaval
The quantity of grapes produced in the Cadaval region led hundreds of growers to establish the Adega Cooperativa do Cadaval in 1963. By the following decade, harvests of 25 million kilograms of grapes - mostly white - were already being recorded. In the 1990s, a restructuring of local vineyards, alongside technological modernisations, allowed for greater production of red wine.
The vineyards in the Cadaval region are influenced by both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean climates, depending on their proximity to the Montejunto Mountains. This favours the production of Vinho Leve Lisboa and sparkling wines, among others, under the supervision of winemakers José Pinto Gaspar and Rita Santos.
