Adega Cooperativa de Dois Portos
In 1960, facing difficulties selling wine in the region of Dois Portos, local producers decided to set up a cooperative winery. It began operating four years later, reaching 800 members by the 1980s.
With the turn of the 21st century, the winery encouraged the planting of grape varieties better suited to the demands of domestic and international markets, thereby boosting the production of higher-quality wines. Today, the finest grapes are channeled into producing Monte Judeu wines, the premium brand of the Adega Cooperativa, overseen by winemaker Alexandra Mendes, who joined the busineess in 1996.
