THE BEST OF WINE, IN CENTRAL LISBON
The region to the west of the city of Lisbon was heavily influenced over the centuries by the dynamic presence of religious orders. Many of these produced a trove of recipes for sweets, wines and liqueurs which have survived the existence of the actual religious orders. Nowhere is this heritage more distinctly visible than in Alcobaça, with its monumental monastery which began being built by the Cistercians in the twelfth century, and which hosts this festival.
This event has been held since 1999. This is the 28th edition.
