THE HISTORY OF A REGION CONNECTED TO WINE
The exhibition evokes and celebrates Bucelas between 1147 and 1927, tracing the parish’s centuries-old history within the context of the municipality of Loures, from its origins – following the Christian reconquest by D. Afonso Henriques – to its elevation to the status of a market town.
Bucelas is a region with a rich wine-growing heritage, having been immortalised by Shakespeare in his play about Henry VI.
